How to view the Marxent CES 2016 preview with Google Cardboard and YouTube 360 

At this time, YouTube 360 only offers Google Cardboard support for Android phones at this time. Android tablet, iPhone and iPad users can still enjoy YouTube 360 videos by following a few simple instructions. Getting started with YouTube 360

  1. If possible, connect your phone to WIFI. A high-speed internet connection will ensure the best performance.
  2. For an optimal viewing experience be sure to update the operating system on your device to the most current available version.
  3. You may also want to update the YouTube app on your device to the latest version.
  4. There are two ways to locate Marxent’s YouTube 360 CES preview video. Either open the YouTube app and search for “Marxent CES” or visit bit.ly/MarxentCES2016.

iPhone + YouTube 360

  1. Be sure that your iPhone or iPad is running iOS 9. Otherwise, you may not be able to use view the video in 360 degrees.
  2. Check to see that you have the latest version of the YouTube app for iOS.
  3. Use the YouTube app to open the YouTube 360 video. Either search in the YouTube app for “Marxent CES” or visit bit.ly/MarxentCES2016.
  4. Play the video in the YouTube app.
  5. Move your phone up, down, left, and right to pan around the scene.

Android + Google Cardboard

  1. Be sure that your Android device is running Lollipop or Marshmallow versions of the Android OS.
  2. Check to see that you have the latest version of the YouTube app for Android.
  3. Use the YouTube app to open the YouTube 360 video. Either search in the YouTube app for “Marxent CES” or visit bit.ly/MarxentCES2016.
  4. If your Android phone is protected with a hard case, you may need to remove the case from your phone to use Google Cardboard.
  5. Prepare the blue Google Cardboard viewer by opening the top velcro flap to release the folded flaps inside and then pull the flaps up and secure along the sides using the attached velcro.YouTube has not added support for split-screen video
  6. Tap the Google Cardboard button in the playback bar.
  7. Place your phone in the Cardboard viewer with the screen facing the lenses.
  8. Secure your device using Cardboard’s velcro tab.
  9. Hold Cardboard up and view the video through the lenses, turning your head to view different parts of the scene.
