We are pleased to announce that Marxent Labs today made a donation of $1,000 to support Youth Boxing Detroit. The Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program (DBG) is a Detroit 501(C) 3 nonprofit that uses boxing as a foundation for developing citizenship, academic success and volunteerism in urban youth. Currently serving 65 students between 8 and 18 years old, the program has dozens of students on their waiting list. Most participants live close by the DBG and many reside in public housing.
Even with the extensive contributions of volunteers, program expenses average $5,000 per student per year. Costs include facility rental, trainers, after-school nutrition, school supplies, boxing safety equipment (gloves, headgear, shoes, etc.), amateur tournament fees and travel expenses to out-of-town events. To join Marxent in supporting this excellent organization, donate here.
