Marxent’s has partnered with American Furniture Warehouse to launch a new Augmented Reality-enabled shopping application. The app caught the attention of Furniture Today author Anne Flynn Wear. Per her story:

American Furniture Warehouse, based in Englewood, Colo., is rolling out a new Augmented Reality (AR) furniture application this week in partnership with Marxent, a furniture technology provider.

The new iOS app works in conjunction with Marxent’s AR software development kit and MxT tracking, a near-instantaneous markerless tracking experience for placing objects on the floor without the need for an initial scanning of ground anchors.”

The user simply points their device, and tracking starts. The new app is available for iPads and iPhones and offers an at-home mobile solution to assess fit and feel in the exact space that is being furnished.

“American Furniture Warehouse is a true leader in retail innovation by looking at AR as a way to improve the total customer experience for their customer base,” said Beck Besecker, Marxent CEO and co-founder. “We’re excited to work with a leading retailer that has a well-developed vision for the future of local furniture retail – where customers can enjoy shopping in-store with the option to digitally try at home.
