This week, we spotlight Brandon Garrett, Director of Content at 3D Cloud™ by Marxent. Let’s read on to learn more!
Brandon, how did you learn about 3D Cloud™ by Marxent, and what is your current role at the company?
I had worked with Marxent in the role I was in at my previous employer. I always had great interactions with the Marxent team, and you could tell that they really enjoyed what they were doing. My current role is Director of Content.
What does your role consist of?
I am part of a team of very talented individuals that are responsible for providing clients with quality 3D meshes and materials, continuing to push the boundaries on realism and achieving new levels of capabilities and efficiency through tooling. The most important part of my role is to provide the team with the direction, information, and tools to succeed.
What do you think is the most important skill that you bring to the table?
I would say Grit; I feel that I don’t give up just because things get difficult, I am always trying to prove my worth, and I am always willing to jump in and help where I can.
How do you motivate yourself at work? Do you have any secret tips?
I love to learn, and there is so much to learn here. Never quit trying to learn new things.
What are three words to describe 3D Cloud?
1. Driven – Everyone in this company is here for the same goal, to make Marxent #1.
2. Agile – The priorities within the company within the company can be shifted very quickly to best suit the overall needs of the company.
3. Compassionate – Members are encouraged to give back to their communities, and the company is very quick to help out employees in need.
What is the best advice you could give to someone who just started a career at 3D Cloud?
Make it a priority to get to know members; there is a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips. Everything from the ins and outs of what we do to the industry in general.
What have you gained from working at 3D Cloud?
I spent most of my career until this past year working for a fairly large company, and while it was a good place to work, there were so many voices it often felt like my voice was drowned out. Here at Marxent, I feel like I have a voice, and I feel respected.
Who are some of your biggest inspirations at 3D Cloud, and why?
I don’t think there is a person with whom I have interacted at Marxent that hasn’t inspired me in some way. This company is jam-packed with so many riven and bright individuals.
What is a dream that you want to make come true one day?
I have always loved reading, and I used to write short stories. It has always been a dream of mine to write a fantasy novel.
What is one food you can’t resist? Pizza? Ice Cream?
Pizza, I will overeat every time.
